No, this isn’t about blogging and giving indicators that some mere mortal is still alive somewhere.
This is actually about the same mere mortal who underwent some not so terrifying ordeal and walked back a victor of some sort. I’m talking about Smart Sweep. It has been a week already and though we won second, I havent blogged about it. The whole Cebu event. And I also havent blogged about the days before the competition when I, together with the other Ateneo Smart Sweep-ers, would be sleeping at school for more than 5 nights in a row. Havent blogged about how in one night, we watched Jimson loose it and dance in front of the camera with Christmas lights lit around his body. I provided an electric fan too to serve as his pole.
Anyway, this post is just entitled Springing Back because I havent sprung back after Sweep. I couldn’t feel the drive yet. I havent even been reacquainted with the silence of Halls of Faura come evening time.
The problem is, I have about a couple of weeks and thesis defense is up. That’s good if only I have thesis to bother myself with. There are other things. One of which is the JSP class presentation which I think, nobody in my group would step-up. That’s a problem. And the other thing is Maam Engeline Obien’s video presentation and Tcom Bee. By the way, Tcom Bee is our midterms. Who the hell calls it a midterm when you have 2 more weeks after for the finals? It isnt even MID. More than MID. And then you still have the video. Probably another artsy-fartsy rehearsed video. With script. I normally dont have anything against video presentations. But this one gets in the way of other things.
Of course there are also those labreps and project with Sir Reggie but my laziness caused that work pile-up. What I dont like though is that I am being asked to participate again in the upcoming SquEEEze contest. The time is just not right. Guess I just have to pass up on that.
Then I heard some of the teachers are planning to send some of the Sweep entries to another contest. More work.
Broadcast: Maam Eng, if you’re googling yourself and read this, please consider in your calculations and projections the possible, impending, and inevitable trouble and sheer irritation you will cause on the entire batch. That’s about 42 people. It isn’t just about the workload. It is also about interfering with what I deem important. Thesis. The supposed culmination of what we learn as ECE students. By the way, these are just my views. Of course there are others who share it but since they arent here as of this writing, I wont pull them in. Besides, they might not want to freely divulge what they’re thinking.
If you want to give that disappointed look, like the one you gave as you stood near the elevator on the second day of the Sweep contest, do as you wish. I will ignore it.
